In pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by section 14 of the Public Services Commission Ordinance, 1950, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations -
REGULATIONS,
Citation.
1.
These regulations may be cited as the Public Services Commission Regulations, 1950.
Interpretation.
2.
In these regulations
Vacancy in pensionable office to be notified to Secretary of Commission.
"Commission" means the Public Services Commission;
"efficiency bar", "promotion bar" and "promotion step"
shall have the meanings from time to time assigned to them in the
General Orders of Government;
"Ordinance"
Ordinance, 1950;
means the Public Services Commission
"pension legislation" means the Ordinance and regulations concerning the payment of pensions to officers in the public service for the time being in force;
"pensionable office" shall have the meaning assigned
to it by pension legislation;
"a vacancy" shall be deemed to occur when a post for which provision has been made in the estimates is not held by a person who has been appointed substantively thereto;
"special appointment" means an appointment other than
an appointment to a pensionable office, being an appointment which. cannot be determined by Government at will or upon the giving of one month's notice or of a period of notice of less than one month.

Whenever the Governor proposes to fill a vacancy occurring
to make a special
or about to occur in a pensionable office or
appointment the Establishment Officer shall give notice in
writing of such vacancy or appointment to the Secretary of the Commission : Provided that
